The Prayer Intentions Of Pope Francis For May 2013"
General: Administrators of Justice That administrators of justice may act always with integrity and right conscience.
Mission:Seminaries: That seminaries especially those of mission churches, may form pastors after the Heart of Christ, fully dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel.
The principal function of the Communications Committee is to educate parishioners about issues related to their faith as well as inform them about events in the parish.
The main communication tool used by the Committee is the “Consoling Eye”, a monthly bulletin which has contributions from both priests and the laity. The contributions include a reflection (by a member of the Pastoral team), a report from a committee of the Pastoral Council, photo stories of events, baptisms and weddings, and the following month’s liturgical calendar.
Currently the ‘Consoling Eye’ is printed one colour. We hope to start printing in two colours in the near future and perhaps even have generous parishioners volunteer to sponsor a full colour cover.
Periodically, the “Consoling Eye” publishes Pastoral Letters and communication from the Vatican. Occasional publications include programmes for festive seasons.
The committee also maintains an electronic album of parish activities. In this regard, we are seeking a member with access to a digital camera who can take photos during both social and liturgical activities at the Shrine. At present, the member charged with this duty is based at Holy Trinity and therefore can only cover a few activities at the Shrine.
Currently, the Communications Committee is constructing a database of all parishioners. Again, we would like to request for support from all parishioners by clearly filling out their registration forms and returning them to the parish office. The Committee will maintain and update the database.
In response to the challenge by His Holiness (the late) Pope John Paul II to the Church to embrace the new communication technologies (vide Message on the occasion of World Communication Day 2004), the Committee has developed a website for the Parish.
