He was the older brother of Saint Jovinus, a noble in 2nd century Brescia and a Priest. He was a zealous preacher in Brescia, Milan, Rome, and Naples. He was tortured and martyred in the persecution of Emperor Hadrian.
While their cultus is ancient and widespread, recent scholarship indicates that the story of Jovinus and Faustinus was a pious fiction, not a biography. He was born at Brescia, Lombardy, Italy.
Death The two brothers were given to the lions, but they refused to touch the brothers; they were beheaded in 120 at Brescia; relics reported in Brescia, Rome, Verona, and Bologna
