Holy Father's intentions for August 2008

The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
   Dear Parishioners,

Last month, our Adoration Chapel was closed briefly for a period of three weeks in order for renovations to be carried out. This was in response to suggestions put forward by you, our adorers. The renovation is now complete and the Chapel re-opened. On behalf of the Pastoral team and the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Committee, I would like to request for your kind donations to cover the renovation costs. On the 20th Sunday of the Year, the readings invite us to celebrate God's mercy to all humanity including those who are different from us. Our God is a God who brings foreigners to his holy mountain. “Foreigners who have attached themselves to the Lord to serve him and love his name and be his servants – all who observe the Sabbath… and cling to my covenant – these I will bring to my holy mountain”.
